Why is that? I get that youth must be served but he seemed more than competent at his job which he held for like forever. I rarely watch local news but the times I have he does his job.
I just don't see longevity at a position placed as a reason they need to go.
Especially haven't they always had the best ratings?

37 years as the anchor at CFCN, and he wasn't a fresh-faced kid right out of school when he started.

Yeah, for us. I'm pretty sure she's an Oilers fan. She was at itv in Mulletville in the 90s. I say boycott CTV until she pledges her allegiance to the Flames.

Yeah, seems strange, but with Global and CTV both announcing new anchors for their national newscasts, there may not be a lot of options for her.

Some visitors from overseas once commented on "the fossil" reading the news. I never really gave it much thought as he is simply a fixture on CFCN. He's been in that chair for longer than can remember (or lived, for that matter) and that's just the way it always was. And the way it was supposed to always be. 
(Melodrama is mostly sarcastic).
On the other hand, he's had a good run and moving forward is fine with me. Maybe now the guy can have supper at supper time for once.

Gravelly old male anchor and fairly hot, definitely younger female anchor . . . . . that's a pretty common formula.
It's certainly a lot more common than a hotter, younger male anchor beside a gravelly old female anchor.
That's entertainment.

My sister swears that eyes further apart is generally considered to increase the attractiveness of a person. I can't see it though.
