The University of Calgary survey found just 11.4 per cent of drivers passed a knowledge test modeled on the class 7 learner's permit exam.

So did I! Just finished it. I don't know how well I did with the licensing questions (GDL length, prohibitions) since when I wrote my learner's permit 17 years ago, you didn't have anything like that. I'm pretty sure I passed, though.

Thats what annoyed me. At least give people some indication whether or not they're a hazard.

I don't need to do it because I know that I'm better than everyone else.

Point blank, driving school should be a pre-requisite in getting a class 5 GDL license.

I would guess that most of the people failing this are older drivers, not newer ones. If you've just studied for the test, chances are you still know the answers.

I would say immaturity and aggressive driving combined with relative inexperience is the biggest problem, and statistics would confirm it, under 25 males are by far the worst drivers on the road and slowly improve with age, maturity and experience.

It's a strange phenomenon, the highest risk drivers think they are the best drivers, very few 25yr old males would ever admit to be less than a good driver.

It's not ability or testosterone it's immaturity, bad decisions made because young males let their emotions get involved in their decision making. Emotions shouldn't have anything to do with driving.

I don't think YOU have the right to say who is or is not a good driver, Mr. I didn't understand 4-way stops a few months ago...

P.S. I am over 25, so meh.
