The Official NCHL trash talk thread.....
Lots of NCHL guys in here, so I figured I would create one thread where we run our mouths off, talk about on and off ice issues, represent our teams and share photos.
I am pylons B, #13. Team GM, ultra-imobile defenceman, and token old guy with a shot that makes my own teammates fear for their lives in front of the net. Chalk it up to the old man strength. I may be slow, but like they say the last thing a prize fighter loses is his punch in my case, it has been my shot.
Can't wait till sept 13th when we get to welcome the Cunning stunt's into the league in a blaze of orange fury that will make them quiver in their pink <<< Jersey's??
(Wow orange and pink, this is going to look like a freaking carnival.)

We're the Saints in div D north. We spent last winter in the HNA, but now we're back, and the only team I recognize in our division is the Hosers. So this will be our first season in awhile where we have absolutely no idea what to expect.
btw I think I played against the pylons a few years ago when I played for the whitesox. It was either div A or B.

Cougar Hunters II Div. E South is my main team. Most of our team is on CP, though most are lurkers rather than posters. I also may play a couple for our big squad, but they are in AA this season so it's a bit out of my comfort zone.
A couple of our rivals from last winter are back after taking the summer off so things should be renewed quickly haha.
How are your ice times looking? We got brutal times! Our earliest game the entire year is 9:45 pm.

I play on a new team called the Slumdog allstars...I didn't name it for sure so easy on laughing. We are starting in the C North division but I will make a bold statement that we might be a little strong for that division. We played a D level team and beat them 15-2 a week ago and it could have been much worse than that.
I just found out though that I will have to miss the first 4 games of the season due to holidays and a saturday night that my band is performing but i am really looking forward to getting out there this season.
Good luck to everybody and have a great season!!

I'm starting this season in D South on a new team--the Screamin Sheep. We got beat 12-2 by a C team a week ago (and it could have been much worse) .... maybe that was you guys? We were at the Fish Creek arena last Thursday night. They seemed like good guys, just a lot better than us.
We're a little apprehensive, but the ref seemed to think we'd fit in all right in the D division.

I play on the same team, I'm the resident goalie, I don't think I'll even get a call from AA team and I don't blame them I've only really been playing net for 2 seasons on a regular basis.
We beat the team in the playoffs that went 15 - 0 during the summer season so hopefully we can take that momentum and carry it into a good winter season.

Hey, I apologize on behalf of my team for running the score up like that. It was our first time together as a group and perhaps we should have been seeded a little higher to start out. You guys are a classy bunch and I hope you do well this season! Take it easy!

Hey, no worries! Honestly, I didn't really feel that you were running up the score--I mean, what were you supposed to do, not shoot on net?
Honestly, I liked that you guys were still competing hard in the last minute of a game where you were up by 10 goals. You guys have some fast skaters; I think you'll do very well.

Wait, you went to the HNA and came back??? Isn't HNA suppose to be way better than NCHL - better ice times, no ringers due to set rosters, and divisions that are much more equal for all teams?

I've played in both for multiple seasons and they're both the same...brutal.
They both have stupid rules that they think makes their league better (HNA Color coordination, NCHL penalty shot after 5 -forefit at 9 PIMS) The icetimes are equally as brutal and both blame minor hockey - even though there are other leagues out there (SASM, ARCHL, ALLCAL) that get much earlier icetimes (7:30 thursday nights).
TO be fair, James, the guy that runs the HNA isn't a bad guy, it's just the league that sucks. They have higher PIM caps than the NCHL, but the also have refs that totally power trip and hand out 10's like candy. That adds up pretty fast.
The NCHL is just a cash grab.
I've played games in every division of NCHL and one thing that sucks is when you get to the lower divisions, they always have some guy out that is an A calibre, and he runs the score. They seem to think this is ok. The Hoser teams are the worst at it.
edit : sorry, I didn't see all your post, just decided to talk trash about the leagues (rather than other teams haha) The only thing better about HNA is the elimination of ringers. Icetimes still really suck (11:30 Chestermere)

I didn't create this thread so we can trash the leagues or how they are operated. More for a discussion forum team to team, about games etc....

ya i know. i kinda went off there after the poster before me said the HNA was supposed to be better.
Anyways back to trash talk, The Pylons - I don't think they were the same team that was in A or B when the whitesox played.
You guys were a fun team to play against. We beat you last time we played but it was close. i think we scored in the last 5 mins to win. #3 is a jackass but good, #94 needs a haircut and that big dman, he's solid

Is anyone playing in the C South division? I'll be joining the Titans, they played in the summer league and this will be the first year for a winter season.

I played in the HNA the last 2 years and yes the ice times do blow.
Not to derail the thread but myself and my buddy would be interested in joining a team in the lowest division possible of either league. Even being spares might work for us. We played 2 years in Div 10 of the HNA (where we were top players) and 1 year in Div 8 (where we were "role" players). Our talent level lacks somewhat.
South league would be preferable as well. Let me know if anyone is looking for players.

Since Mike posted, I might as well...I'll throw my name in as a spare goalie for the lower levels. I work til 8:30 most nights, so the late games don't bother me

Careful about talking about your team on here. There's a poster here who has signed up with a new alter-username just to trash people who like to talk about their hockey team. He'll drop unfunny bombs and World of Warcraft references to make you question his sexuality.

We left the NCHL when, in the second period of a playoff game, a referee decided he didn't want to be there anymore. He promptly called one of our players for 3, 10 minute misconducts in a row, effectively ending the game as per NCHL rules. Now, I'll agree that the play constituted an ejection, but he threw two extra in there just so he could go home. Worst part of the deal was that the ref never explained this. He ejected the player, walked back to the dressing room and locked himself in. No explantaion or anything.
NCHL is full of terrible refs who exploit the terrible rules so they don't have to stay late. Playing an 11:30 p.m. game in chestermere? You better believe your team will get some questionable calls in an attempt for the refs to go home early via the max penalty rule.
I exaggerate a bit, but it always seemed to happen.

I play on the Timbits of Doom in EII in the NCHL and I am one of those guys that definitely shouldn't be there... probably more of a C or D player.
Anyway, anyone here play in EII that I can trash talk?
I also ref in the NCHL. (first year reffing so I am not at the point of calling a game to go home early yet)
