Avs try and boost scoring
Denver, CO - The Colorado Avalanche's pre-season so far can be summed up in one word: "Pathetic" said GM Swayze11. Sure, it is just pre-season but that does not mean anything according to the general manager. "Our efforts have been pathetic, I had high hopes this season and when you are dressing your top line up for a pre season game, you expect effort. There is no excuse for the lack of scoring, we have players that have proven they can put the puck in the net. There is no excuse for 3 goals in 3 games". The GM was so upset that he made a trade to hopefully change this issue. Coming to Colorado is skilled forward Milan Hejduk. Here is the breakdown of the trade:
To Colorado:
Milan Hejduk
$1M in 2011-2012
Cap Difference
To Tampa Bay:
Martin Erat
Luke Pither
"We are hoping Milan addresses our lack of scoring and brings a veteran presence to our young team." said the general manager. Martin Erat has been invisible this preseason and was in coach Sacco's dog house after the 2nd game. Hejduk was seen skating with Kristian Huselius and Jason Spezza on the top line this morning.
