Default BATTLE OF ALBERTA Part 3

Another Battle of Alberta tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm at Commonwealth Stadium. Is it going to be a real Battle of Alberta or another blowout? The last two games between these two teams, the games were won by a blowout in favour of the Stampeders.

Stampeders' defense dominated in the last game giving up just 3 points. The other 2 points by the Eskimos they got from Prefontaine's punts. I am hoping they will not take the Eskimos' offense lightly on this game.

Henry Burris must be loving it this season. He's got all the time to pick his receivers because of the protections the offensive linemen are giving him. Burris is not the only one benefitting from the good protections. The two-headed monster Joffrey Reynolds and Jon Cornish are doing well also.

I have to say if Stampeders doesn't take the Eskimos lightly, I don't care how tough Edmonton play, Stamps will still prevail. Offensively and Defensively there are no match.

GO STAMPS GO!!

this one will be much closer than the last two. I think it'll be the Stamps preparation and their aversion to complacency (for the most part) that will see them come out on top.

I bet it's within 10 points though.

I'm hoping for backups at the start of 2nd half this time.

I'm thinking we'll see Huff under centre by the 4th.

Stampeders should win but I would expect more of a competitive game from a humiliated Edmonton team in their own barn. If they take the Eskimos too lightly or if Frank shows up for a portion of the game who knows as the Riders can attest.

EDM has no weapons right now. Should be another cake-walk.

Edmonton mails in yet another loss to the best team in the CFL. I hope the Stamps hit 60 this time, I love watching Edmonton get absolutely destroyed in all sports.

Only way this one is remotely competitive is if the Edmonton defense and special teams score points; Calgary's defense is just swallowing up anything short, and if it's anything like last game, Ray won't have time to think about the deep ball.

No idea how this will play out. Another thrashing would not surprise nor would a close game.

Hoping for a thrashing. As long as they have a "city of champions" sign, I want thrashings.

The Stamps have had many "trap" games already and haven't fallen into them. They don't seem to take anyone lightly.

And yet the seasons only halfway done. How many Alouettes teams have we seen 8-1 at midway point and collapse down the stretch?

It's tough; though as a fan it's a special thing to witness a team like this since as it only happens once a decade, the team is already a victim of their own success.

Anything less than a championship this year will be a bitter pill to swallow and frankly it's always difficult to win on a "any given Sunday" league where the playoffs are single-knockout.

Heck, not even a bye to the West final is guaranteed yet.

A season like this is incredibly satisfying but only if you win it all and that still remains a tall order. And it makes games like this tough to watch as a fan: because if your team wins, it's expected, but if they lose it would be extremely disappointing.

Wow, what were Milt Stegall been drinking today. I think he is on drugs or something because he just picked the Eskimos to win. On another note, former Esks Calvin Armstrong signed with Toronto.

Calgary will stay with the same lineup as Labour Day game while Eskimos put Whitlock on 9 games injury list. Kelly "Dropsie" Campbell is questionable tonight.

Reynolds just need 51 yards to surpass Kelvin Anderson's rushing record.

GO STAMPS GO!!!

I agree with pretty much all of this. I just don't think that they'll lose because of complacency.

You really took that seriously?
It's tv there has to be SOME intrigue!

You never know with Stegall. This is the same who picked Calgary not to make the playoff this season.
