Default What phone should I get?

So i own a Google Nexus one, however today the screen cracked and upon doing some investigation, i found that a repair would not only take weeks, but the cost would be over $250 USD with shipping which i'm not really willing to spend right now on a used phone.

So i need a new phone. I'm eligible for a full upgrade/new phone with the carrier i'm with (Bell) and am trying to decide what phone to get.

The two choices it seems are either the Samsung Galaxy S or the Iphone 4.

I like Android, but the reason i liked the Nexus One were for Flash, Mobile HotSpot tethering, and the speediness of the overall interface none of which the Galaxy seems to have as it's still on Android 2.1 (no flash), and it seems the carriers have handicapped the phone to prevent wireless tethering, and the samsung interface installed seems to cause a great deal of lag.

I like the Iphone 4, but i'm not a huge fan of having no flash, the closed environment, nor does the iphone (As far as i know) have wireless tethering.

Anyway i want some opinions on both as that seems to be what i'm stuck with.

I may end up selling my broken Nexus One on Ebay as i imagine i could get a few hundred dollars. The touch screen and glass are both fine, however the actual LCD screen underneath the glass is broken.

There is a huge shortage of Samsung Galaxy S phones right now as they cannot keep up with the demand for the Super AMOLED screens. I have not been able to find one in Calgary. If you decide to go that route, you may have to wait a while for the phone.

Stock iPhone has bluetooth and USB tethering. Jailbreak it and you can get wifi hotspot creation with an app.

I'm pretty sure the Galaxy S in canada has hot spot enabled. It's only the US that they cripple that feature. Besides if he has to go to the trouble of jailbreaking a phone he might as well go with the galaxy S and root it.

Jailbreak it and those latter 2 are fixed, and eventually Flash.
