Tamil Migrant Ship M/V Sun Sea will arrive Canada by Aug 14th
The 59-metre Thailand registered 767 Ton Macgregor type cargo ship "Harin Panich 19", now renamed as MV Sun Sea with over 200 Tamil migrants on board, destined for Canada from Maldives is expected to arrive the Canadian Coast close to Victoria in Province of British Columbia by August 14th but depending on the conditions of high seas of Pacific Ocean it may arrive few days early or few days late.
The vessel was spotted in the Gulf of Thailand by the Philippine Coast Guard in May. The Asian Tribune reported in July that MV Sun Sea was seen near Guatemala heading north towards Canada 10 days ago.
I say welcome them. Our tiger population is severely depleted. Let them in, let them loose in the BC wilderness, and then declare a hunting open season on tigers.
They obviously didn't do their research before deciding to come here, especially the West Coast. We have a large Chinese population, and the migrants will just be hunted into extinction for their gallbladders and units...........
Investigate their backgrounds, if any of them are linked in any way to the Tigers send them home.
According to many reports there are many high level LTTE members on the boat making a last ditch effort to flee Sri Lanka.
The authorities are going to have a hell of a time figuring out who is who on that ship. I doubt any of them have any legitimate Identity Documents and they will all say their name is John Smith.

It is really quite sad. You have 200+ people on this ship which has been sailing for several months. I am sure there are people on this boat that have no connection to the LTTE but have paid thousands of dollars to humman traffickers to get them to Canada. Now these people have to share a boat with a bunch of terrorists who want to mingle amoungst them. One can only imagine the conditions on that boat.
Those LTTE members can go to hell, jump off the boat before you get to Canada and rid the world of your pathetic and sick life so the poor soles that have nothing to do with you can maybe make something of their life. As long as any LTTE member is on that boat it puts every single person into question about their past life and possible involvment in that terrorist organization.

If giving them an interview is the best the immigration officers can do (as it is with a lot of refugees), to try to determine whether or not they are terrorists, then you have to send them away.
It will be interesting to see what happens here. The second the boat enters into Canadian waters, these people can make a refugee claim and will remain in Canada until at least their case is heard.
The other option is for Canada to intercept the boat in international waters. Given that so many people deemed that illegal after Israel's Flotilla raid, it will be interesting to see how Canada reacts. This could become Canada's very own Flotilla.

I am not sure what you mean Caramon. Do you mean interviewing or interrogating is useless?
