Saw that yesterday, if they can get them out alive (eventually), it'll be the feel good story of the year/decade

Thank goodneess they did not have to start eating each other, like the rugby team that got stranded in Chile.

I'm kinda wondering where the first 17 days worth of food came from though... I'm not sure they stock panic rooms in North American mines with that much, let alone in a place like Chile.

That's incredible that they are going to have to wait 120 days to be rescued.
And the fact that they have been trapped underground for 17 days...some of those people must be insane by now.

Wonder if they'll get paid overtime since they'll be spending nights in the mines?

They survived 17 days on 48 hours worth of supplies.

			wonder where their outhouse is?
it's funny how miners have always had one of the chittiest jobs in the world, that no one has cared about their health risks while working the mines, until the get trapped. Then everyone loves them.

I hear ya, if it was big and well lit maybe. I've crawled around in some small mines and caves and it is creepy.

The mine safety regulations are horrible in Chile...hopefully they all make it out okay.

Being stuck in a collapsed dark mine for 4 months with no entertainment, probably what is going to be pretty bland food, no woman, no sunshine no books or T.V.
Yeah, I'd probably murder a person or two to amuse myself, and I can't promise that Billy Bob wouldn't start to look good after 3 months.

On a serious note, you have to think there is going to be a lack of exercise as well, and the air quality is going to be poor. Those guys are going to be crippled messes if they get out.

^ complete messes, yeah. But lasting 17 days on 48 hours worth of supplies. Whoever was manning the supply storage managed to keep 32 hungry people and himself from raiding the stores. Right now I imagine that discipline in that group is well provided. Who knows, now that they have food and medicine maybe he'll get them doing calisthenics for the next 4 months.
I for one imagine that there is maybe only one lower circle of hell than what they have experienced and what they are about to go through.

They've got fresh air being pumped in, and they're getting A/V feeds with the top going so miners can chat(roulette?) with their families, which should reduce any cabin fever.

Being stuck somewhere for any amount of time sucks (see:Edmonton), but these guys are fighting to stay alive, anything above that is just gravy (salsa?)
