Default Kouleas and "my man D" laid off by the Score

http://www.metronews.ca/toronto/blog/post/606975

Kouleas could be a little to much sometimes, but he had a ton of passion for the game and was great at interacting with the fans.

Cabbies producer, my man D also got canned. Had the chance to meet the guy a few times, and he was extremely polite and nice. That guy's put a lot of his blood and sweat, into almost a decade into Cabbie's bits on the score.

TSN in my mind, especially with Rogers BS this week, is just head and shoulders above every competitor in Canada.

TSN is better than ESPN.

They are the best sports broadcasting station in the world.

I havent watched the score in ages. They should revert back to constant highlights. All the wrestling and other crap really drove me away.

Not to mention the constant poker broadcasts, long after the televised poker craze started to fade.

I stopped watching The Score after they switched to the new programming format with little highlights. Sucks that these two are gone, as I enjoyed both shows.

I liked Kouleas..has a lot of enthusiasm for hockey. And wasn't ignorant to the markets out west.

CBC should offer him something on HNIC.

I hope Kouleas goes to TSN, he is by far my favorite hockey expert.

It's amazing how much talent The Score has lost...

Friedman to CBC
Cibulski to TSN
Adnan Virk to ESPN

It will be very interesting to see where Kouleas goes. I think he's more suited to radio than tv cause on radio he can interview other experts and have long segment to engage the fan.

I get sick of watching commercials for mens soap operas. Plus like Misterpants said poker was on seemingly everyday.

Until there's TSN radio or TSNNEWS or they gets huge events on their own, they can't make that claim. ESPN's just a huge empire. Most recently, their coverage of the World Cup was amazing.

Jay Onrait is the only person that could revive the Score.

After the reorg'd you could see changes coming.

Dumping Koul on Ice is the most surprising, he probably made too much money. I can see him going to RSN.

TheScore is awesome - well a little less awesome after today.

I think The Score is more a victim of a changing media landscape than their inability to go up against TSN and SNET. The original idea of the channel was a place to go to get sports highlights. I used to race home at night after missing a Flames game and go tune in to see the highlights. Now I can go to one of dozens of websites on my iPhone and watch.

Quite simply they just haven't made themselves attractive to a 2010 market. They look like something that would have existed 10 to 15 years ago.

And yes, their production quality/on air sets look something like a high school news channel would put out. Very pathetic effort, even on a limited budget.
