Pretty big deal if you ask me...

Wow. Just wow.

This is bigger than the new Alice in Chains album being made, and I'm a HUGE AIC fan. Kim Thayil is one of the most underrated guitarists and he has been sorely missed the last dozen years.

These guys did nothing but make great records. Over and over and over.

Nice timing, I have been revisiting some old, more obscure Seattle bands the last few weeks and downloading some out of print albums that are just fantastic.

I say, since they share a drummer with Pearl Jam, that the two bands should do a massive tour together.

As long as Cornell remembers to sing and scream like it's 1991 and NOT like his solo trash.

I don't know if I am convinced it will be good though. Its not the 1990's anymore. All the band members are older. Some things are better off as we remember them. Comebacks rarely work. Soundgarden's evolution now has a 13 year gap...so do they pick up where they left off? Will they sound dated? A return to something like Badmotorfinger? I would love it to be great but not expecting it. I'm just as happy to put on the old records.

I think the new Alice In Chains is a really good and honest return that comes from a genuine place, but even it sounds a little bit dated.

If Cornell really wanted to stay relevant he would've tried to make some interesting music instead of trying to become the next Nelly Furtado.

A few of their well known hits..

I remember when this video first came out and it was the coolest thing ever.

And this one goes down as one of the greatest rock songs of their generation.

I often refer to Spoonman as their worst song. It is certainly my least favorite of all of their charting singles.

I prefer these...

Spoonman got played to death for me as well. Too many to choose. Mind Riot, Room a Thousand Years Wide, Jesus Christ Pose...heck, anything from Badmotorfinger. 4th of July, Like Suicide, Overfloater, Blow Up The Outside World...Loud Love...
