Gangs in Calgary, how much do you know?
I was just wondering how much Cp'ers know about gang activity in Calgary?
Everyone in our neighborhood talks about this one asian family's house. Apparantly it's pretty well known that the son is a gang member. It's never really mattered to me before, but tonight there is three cars with young males that have been behaving oddly for the last hour or so.
They keep driving by his house, and sometimes one car will stop in front and turn his lights off and just sit in the dark. Other times all three cars will drive by slowly and look in. The last time, the one car was parked with his lights off, the other two cars were coming down the street, the car in the dark flashed his lights and the two cars quickly turned around and left.
It's a little nerve racking seeing this go down. Hopefully nothing bad happens.
I never really feel bad for gang members, but I always feel bad for the families that get put in the middle by their stupid kids. I've seen the family out and about, and they're just a nice older, chinese couple, and now they've got a bunch of punks circling their house late at night, and they probably don't even know.

Call the cops if you care at all about their parents or any neighbors you don't want hit by stray bullets.

I've got $10 on Panorama.
Always call the cops. You might not think it's wothwhile, but if it's something serious 1 in 50 times you call it's worth it, and the cops will agree with me. Everyone assumes someone else will call, which leads to no one actually calling.

Just got back, and police are investigating. I went out to my car and drove around as I called. She said they had two reports of loud noises already, and I saw two cops driving around as soon as I got out.
I drove b ytheir house and all the lights were on, but I couldn't see if anything had happened. Just now as I was driving up another cop car drove by and slowed right down as he saw me get out, kind of just staring at me. But the lady gave them my address, so I think he realized I was the one who called and left after after I waved at him.
We'll see if I get a call back or they come to my house. I gave her as many details as I could.

Yeah, but the problem is these lousy gang members like to live in the safer, suburban communities.
...and really, having them live here doesn't mean anything most of the time, because they generally do the bad **** away from where they live. But then you get situations where people come after them, and all of a sudden your neighborhood feels like Forest Lawn for a night.

I went to school with all the fob and fob killers and they mostly all still live in Forest Lawn and Dover. Sad part is they bring all the problems home to their families as most still live at home. I was friends with some in High School and they are actually all good people just fighting over the dumbest reasons. Nothing to do with a turf war or a drug war just over one guy who was jealous his ex went out with another guy he knew and killed him.

Canyon Meadows actually gets a little bit sketchy towards its eastern side where it gets close to Queensland.

I don't claim to know much about these two gangs, but I'm pretty sure they've gone way past that original incident, and are now just like every other gang, fighting over territory and drugs.
Do you honestly think with how big these two gangs are, that they are still just fighting over that one incident years ago?

Canyon Meadows eastern end backs onto Macleod trail, and is 4 or 5 communities away from Queensland. Are you thinking of Deer Run?

Not to mention that there is no way Puckluck went to school with all these gang members unless he went to multiple high schools in the north as well.
