I would have much preferred a pose where he's standing triumphantly over Ales Hemsky in the fetal position.

repaint of Sheldon Souray

I am sure the sculpt has been used before. They should have used a player that was 'bulkier' that this sculpt. But, good that they are choosing more Flames.

I wonder if it comes with a net and a puck, shot wide by 3 feet.

Dion Phaneuf was the champion of shooting pucks wide. And he has no excuse, since he was considered an 'elite' offensive d-man. Regehr has a pretty heavy shot. He may shoot it wide, but nowhere near as bad as ol' #3.

If it weren't for the fact that it was Regehr, I couldn't tell if he was winding up a slapshot or getting ready to unleash a mean hit.

That photo looks photoshopped to me. Is that from the official site? The colors and such honestly look photoshopped on.

I actually thought that looked a bit like Kovalev too. Doesn't look like Regehr at all.

I think you're exactly right. Regehr doesn't wear a CCM helmet either - he wears Mission - and this figure looks nothing like him. The quality of the McFarlane sculpts has really gone downhill in the last few years.

Dion fired a lot of pucks wide but you don't even need a second to look at their career stats for goals and pp time to see Dion is the superior shooter. Dion scores more goals in a year than Regehr has his whole life. The other side of the ice though...

Nobody wears Mission in the NHL anymore. After Bauer acquired Mission Itech they removed Mission from the ice category of hockey.
