Default Need help: Painting and home reno

I suck at all things renos. I do however work with my hands so I am a quick learner. Just need some guidance.
My living room/house sucks. So I gave away all my old nasty furniture and I wanna start fresh. House is 25 years old. Walls are currently light beige with white trim around baseboards and windows.
I am having furniture delivered tomorrow so I need to at least get my living room painted tonight. I have a bunch of questions im hoping people can answer for me.

To repaint, Do I need to apply a primer?
What kind of paint should I buy?
Any colour recommendations if furniture is cocoa colour.
Do they have pre mixed paint or do I get someone to mix it for me at Rona?

My baseboards are also in rough shape,
easier to repaint them or buy new ones?
should I leave all my trims white?
how do you buy baseboards?

Hoping to get answers soon to my dumb questions as Im kinda in a hurry.

If walls are a light beige than no primer is probably nessesary. Just a good cleaning with some TSP + water.

What kind of paint? Depends on your budget, Im a fan of Sherwin-Williams, but they're pricey unless you get them on sale.
If you're in a hurry, you could probably get away with an interior Behr paint from Home Depot. Go there, look at the finishes, I'd suggest matte or at most an eggshell. They mix it for you at the store.

Color: If you want to keep it simple and match some darker furniture, Id go with a light beige or a light grey. Again, depends on the lighting, floors, blinds etc. Too many people are going for 'bold' colors nowadays (see: red) in small spaces. Personally I think color palettes like that looks cheap.

Baseboards: Easy to repaint, moderately hard to replace (just need to be good with a mitre saw and measuring/angles).
Yes, leave all trims a nice fresh white.
If you want to replace, you can buy baseboards at HD/Rona. Once the old ones are off, they just tack on with nailing gun.

I don't think I'd do this if I was getting new furniture delivered tomorrow, or are you going to put the new furniture in a different room for a couple of days?
Otherwise ... imo

Free classes at Home Depot are your friend.

I used to do a bunch back when I was in uni. Great classes on plumbing, painting, drywall, etc etc etc.

I just re-did my place before moving in.

We took wallpaper off, painted walls and baseboards, etc.

We did not use a primer but we got the combo paint where you don't need to. It goes on thick, and you should be able to do it in 2 coats (depending on colour you're at and going to) if you do it right. You should be able to tape, sand, paint in one night no problemo.

As for baseboards.... depending on how much you care about your flooring is how easy it is. If you care about the flooring, and are impatient, I'd say to replace them. Painting them can be a pain in the ass because you have to be careful and you tape the wall/floor, use a guard if you don't have a perfectly steady hand etc. If you don't care about flooring (ie/ you're getting new carpet like I was) then you can paint your baseboards in one night and drip everywhere...

White is a good colour for baseboards and trim stuff.
