American charged at Coutts crossing after firearms seized
An American caught trying to enter Canada with nearly a dozen semi-automatic firearms is in police custody.
Canada Border Services Agency officers stopped the man Sunday as he was entering Alberta at the Coutts border crossing.
He never declared the weapons, many of which are illegal, officials say.
A search uncovered 11 illegal firearms, including seven restricted semi-automatic handguns, one semi-automatic shotgun and three prohibited fully-automatic rifles.

Good work CBSA. Just image how many firearms make it across that they do not find.

Wow!
Ruger MK1
Beretta 92FS
Glock 30 Compact
FN Five-Seven
1911 Variant
H&K MP5K Folding Stock w/ Aimpoint RDS
H&K MP5 Fullstock w/ Eotech 552
H&K SL8 converted to G36K w/ Hensoldt Sight
some semi-auto shotgun and other handguns I can't identify
Those aren't even legal in many US states. Didn't know an SL8 could be converted to full-auto.

Those guns are pretty nice. Glad they're not in the hands of criminals. How does someone go to sleep knowing the gun they just sold is possibly going to end someones life?
I just couldn't do it. I don't care if I was offered a million dollars for the guns I own, I could never sell someone a gun and live with myself after.

The SL8 can't be converted to full auto, the full auto carrier from the G36 model won't fit inside. I read that Australia tried to ban it because it could be converted to full auto, but the manufacturer blew that argument apart.

So it's a fake grip? That looks like an SL8 reciever to me. Look at the buttstock connection.

Sorry, I might have miss typed. Using SL8 native parts you can't convert to full auto.
I read that people tried to use full auto carriers from other HK models but the full auto slide is to big to fit into the SL8
It would be like me trying to convert a FN C1A1 to a fully automatic rifle by taking the breechblock and carrier mechanism from the fully automatic FN c2a1, it just ain't compatible.
The SL8 is designed to be a semi auto, unlike some other semi auto's this one can't be converted to fully auto.

I'm just curious as to what that gun is as it's an SL8 reciever but there's a full auto marking on the selector.

I doubt there will be one. If the judge finds the man guilty, the firearms will be destroyed.

This is why they harass you at the border and makes that guy who antagonized the US border guards look like an even bigger tool.

Great catch!
I would say roughly only 1/3 of smugglers at the border actually get caught. It is getting better since the CBSA was formed and isn't under the control of the Canada Revenue Agency anymore. There are still a lot of tax driven Officers on the job though, but they are being replaced by cop-minded Officers now. A bit less friendly, but they are goal oriented and get results like this. Good job Officers.
Guys like Bjorn are the reason that Border Officers need to be armed. That's a dangerous and scary situation to be in when you're armed, let alone not equipped with the tools to do your job.

You don't know where these weapons were going though...could be additions to someone's collection or for target shooting for all we know.
You can sell a car to someone that could end a life too.....

That's exactly my point. I don't know, thats why I couldn't live with myself.
And did you just compare selling a gun to selling a car? Are you really that stupid?
NEWS FLASH: Guns are made for shooting people. Cars are not.
