He sure likes acting like a rock star. And he loves hearing himself talk. But this is Obama trying to rehabilitate his battered image and get America to fall in love with his speeches again.

Yes, I can imagine his thinking - "Damn, I'm getting a rep for indecisiveness and pandering... How can I fix that???? I got it - I will go on TV with a bunch of clucking chickens!"

You won't be able to hear him anyway. Those women just talk all over each other for the whole hour.

Yeah, certainly not the best way to help his image. He could do a sitdown with a lot of other BETTER people.

Don't kid yourself; this is very calculated. The next election is likely to be closer than the last one (i.e. the GOP will likely not be running a geriatric windbag alongside a brainless brunette in librarian glasses). The election will come down to a few swing voter blocs.
Obama doesn't care if people who never supported him don't like him appearing on the View. This is about solidifying and expanding his support among soccer moms. Obama did very well with married women in 2008, but not quite as well as he did with single women. If he improves his standing among married women by, say--5-10% between now and 2012, that could mean winning Ohio again.
To put that in context: the GOP cannot win without Ohio. Obama could win by getting Pennsylvania and not Ohio, but not if he loses both. Expect Obama to do a lot more of this kind of thing over the next 24 months.

Ohio will continue to flip-flop every election until someone gets those poor people some jobs. The situation is pretty dire in some parts of Ohio.

Maybe they'll all sit around in their pajama's eating ice cream and talking about Boys.
I'm betting there's no serious political discussion, the talk is going to focus around his wife, and his kids whining about plugging the hole.

I think the rule for a first-term President is that you get your first two years to govern and the rest is spent fundraising and campaigning in preparation for the next campaign.

Well, this should be good, isnt this akin to some sort of to-the-death cage fight?
Those 'women' are going to tear him limb from limb either out of rage, hormones, lust or just plain hunger.

Oh, so when the Federal Government wants to regulate industry, that is not its role, but when industry screws the pooch, then the Government is supposed to be there cleaning it all up? How lovely. Yes, he should have some involvement in the cleanup, but BP should be running that show. They made the mess, they should clean it up.

It's going to be a summit of butt-kissing, most likely.
