Default Does Playstation Network have a lot of lag?

So I've always been an XBOX guy. Bought a PS3 for MLB The Show 2010, and noted the game sucked for online play.

I read some online forums and it seems that it's just that particular. So today I bought Madden 2011 (too lazy to unhook the PS3), and I noticed the same thing. The game seems laggy online whereas I never noticed that with Madden 2010 or any other game on my XBOX 360.

Am I dreaming here, or is XBOX Live just that much better?

Try running a wired connection, I find it reduces lag significantly.

PS3's only downfall is a slow wifi. Plug it in.

Yup. Only games I've ever had lag problems with is the NHL series. It's probably EAs servers.

EA games are also very buggy for me online. I had to stop playing with the Fata's in NHL 09 it was so bad.

I am using a wired connection.

I think from now on, unless the game is exclusive to PS3, i'll be buying the XBOX 360 version of it (starting with NHL 2011).

Right now I am in the same debate MJM. Recently, I have not bought an Xbox 360 game in a -long- time, partially because I was too lazy to buy a wireless adapter, and my PS3 has it built in. Therefore, I have been buying ALL my games for PS3, and my Live subscription even expired.

Just picked up Madden for PS3. However, with NHL coming out, i know that is a game I will definetly play online -alot-.

So now I am debating on going out to buy a wireless adaptor, as well as a new live subscription just for NHL 11...or just buy the PS3 Version.

I'll second the EA bug. I can game online well with other games, but NHL really shows. The drop rate gets really bad with me. It's so frustrating.

I notice it with some EA games more than others, FIFA usually has no lag for me but NHL is terrible

I have both systems and haven't really noticed a difference, except when I had my PS3 on wifi and my XBOX on wired
