If it wasn't for your friend, then I would have got Germany. As long as troutman stuck with his cheeseheads pick, that is.

Funny thing about that, he wanted no part of England. Well, I'd take Germany over England too...

Nope, Portugal can burn, so long as Brazil and Uruguay do well. Besides, all the good teams were gone by the 14th pick...

Portugal can burn.....nice.
For the record, I'd be pleasantly surprised if Portugal got out of the first round. Their tourney will be defined by their first game against the Ivory Coast.
Portugal doesn't have a great history in opening matches of World Cups. The USA debacle in 02 was an embarassment and a very mediocre win vs Angola in 06. I'm worried and rightfully should be.
Having said that, FORCA PORTUGAL!!

I dont like Portugal. Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Carvalho taint the entire nation with their contagion of suck.
Portugal will be in tough. In all honesty they should come out of their group. That game against the Ivory Coast wont be easy but it certainly is winnable.
If they bring the same form that they had during their qualifying campaign then they may as well stay home.

I'm actually doing really well, Uruguay and (most likely) Brazil are going to advance!
As I recall, the point system was whatever points the team acquires so:
Uruguay - 4
Brazil - 3
Portugal - 1
Not too bad.

Uruguay - 7
Brazil - 6
Portugal - 4
For 17 Points and 2 of my 3 are guaranteed to go through and the third is more than likely going to go through.
