A girl who had her face accidentally got shot off had maxillofacial reconstructive surgery; basically these doctors made a facial prosthesis based on a picture of her when she's 14.
Worth a watch. Probably pretty shocking if you've never seen bad facial trauma/anomalies.

Brave girl. I just looked at the pictures and didn't read much but were her eyes okay or were they damaged as well? I can't imagine they would be okay after what happened to her.

Everything between her lower jaw bone and her brain was completely destroyed. So no, she could not see.

She's blind. Her eyes were destroyed by the blast.
It's really worthwhile reading her story.

Amazing story. Definitely worth a read and look at. Don't worry, there's no pictures that are gross or anything.

She says it the best.

She's lived to find a partner and had a kid ... most people who take a shotgun blast at close range to the face can't say that. Pretty sure that's the definition of blessed.

I have a friend that lives in the Eastern U.S. and does facial reconstruction surgeries. Some of the stories are pretty gruesome, but it is really incredible what they can do.

I'd walk around in a DOOM outfit. "None judge DOOM!"
Or Deadpool.
This is an amazing story. Reminds me of the guy who got cancer throughout his face and doctors removed then reconstructed his face with prosthetics.

I should not have been eating berry fruit salad while listening to the police officer tell his story.
