Default Calling all soccer players, hacky sackers, martial artists!

Hmm so I've been inactive in the game of Footbag Net for a bit, but have recently purchased a net so I can get some exercise. Unfortunately, no real opponents exist in Calgary so I'll take anybody!

The game is hard to put into words, it plays like volleyball over a badminton court. Can only hit the ball with the feet. Here are some highlights from a recent tournament:

Anyway, the challenge is out there to try and beat me! I also would love to train the Flames on one pass drills (without the net), which is a way better drill than playing soccer in my opinion. Lots of accuracy required, and of course a smaller ball.

Be warned this game is hard on the legs when playing over a net! I did some drills for the first time in about a year last week. My legs still feel like they were pounded by a meat tenderizer.

Feel free to respond, PM if interested. The net can be set up in any park.

I saw a bunch of guys playing this at the applewood park last year. They used to play on wednesday nights around 7:30-8 or so.

I might be interested in trying it out.

My groin can barely handle a game of soccer anymore - this would destroy it.

Oh yeah the applewood takraw players. I'd played with them before but it's been years. I'm more of a downtown kind of guy though

Oh, this is similar to sepak takraw. We used to play this as kids and teens all the time. I doubt I can still do the things I used to do. I remember my old school team made it as far as the state championships.

Yes the rules are very similar to takraw, but different. Instead of 3 on 3 with a server, spiker and setter, it plays singles or doubles. You have to alternate who hits the ball in doubles - 3 hits max. In singles you get two touches only. You have to serve cross-court from behind the backline like tennis. And no heads, knees or anything. Just the feet!

Freakin most challenging game ever! Haha.

ps I have a takraw ball too for anyone that wants to ease into it.
Btw a hilarious thing on takraw thanks to the onion:
