Not the first time this winner has resorted to violent protest. Hopefully she gets a nice long jail sentence, and a bigger fine.

According to her face book page, one of her interests is burning stuff

My thought as well - looks like she came straight from the trailer park. Not attractive in any way.

Throw the book at her.

These hard core protesters....I think we should raise some money and let them have a go at protesting places in the world where they really have a chance to change a repressed society. Perhaps there they can hit a home run and really change the world - smashing stuff in Toronto isn't going to get it done.

I think we should raise several thousand, or even hundred of thousands of dollars, and book these people tickets to Tehran or Islamabad for their next protest.

Something is not right here, because this chick was arrested at the G20 already..

Here is a video of her getting arrested for blowing bubbles at a G20 cop....kind of a stupid exchange between both of them....

That is why I couldn't be a cop. Cop is just doing his job, and you have people trying to belittle him.

I would've bitch slapped her across the street. Ok maybe not, but it would have crossed my mind.

I'm not all for cops all the time, but I am with him completely. He's the enforcer of the law, he has to retain a position of respect and authority. That girl thinks she can walk all over him, humiliate him and just get away with it?

Not that I disagree with your post, but had to laugh at this. So...if she's hotter, a little more leeway is in order?

I would hope she gets whats coming to her in terms of property damage. There is no justification for breaking windows, stealing things, etc. in the name of global poverty issues.

I am also ashamed at my country for how the police handled non-violent protesters. Is this really Canada? I've watched quite a few videos posted on youtube, and I find it shocking that when there's violence, the police stand back in a defensive position and let it happen. Other times, they are manhandling, assaulting and making unlawful arrests against peaceful protesters. (or the cop threatening the chick blowing bubbles... wow, that guy needs to find a different job). The police actions just provoke a cycle of violence. They're the professionals, they're supposed to be able to handle this stuff. Arrest those damaging property on the spot. Advance fast and hard against the unarmed hippies breaking things. But if the hippies are just sitting there blocking a lane of traffic... don't bring the beatdown.

Neither side of the G20 protests looks good.

As someone that has volunteered for a number of anti-poverty organizations, the GOAL is the elimination of poverty, but like "eliminating racism", while the end goal may be impossible, working towards that goal and reducing it is as worthwhile as any cause.

I don't laugh at this woman for being in anti-poverty groups. I would laugh at her belief that violence would work towards producing that end goal.

Again, sorry little brats with nothing else to do other than protesting the wealth that gave them the time to protest it.

EDIT: I would like to add that this is again policing after the fact. They, TO police, failed in their primary mission. Protecting the public.

So you think that the only people who should protest are the ones who are unable to make the time to do it? I see what you did there.
