Lego Store to open in Chinook Mall... Now Open.
http://www.calgaryherald.com/busines...178/story.html
Quote:
The store will be on the upper level just off the food court of the existing Chinook Centre in a 2,100-square-foot retail space. The mall is also undergoing a multimillion-dollar expansion with several other stores opening there later this year, said Paige O’Neill, retail manager at Chinook.
The Lego opening wouldn’t be happening without dedicated fans, said Stern.
“We look at a few different things when we place a Lego store anywhere in the world,” she said.
“The first thing we look at is where our Lego fans are located,” said Stern.
Based on the Lego club magazine’s 2.1 million readers in North America, she said, Calgary has a good cluster of Lego fans.

I hate Lego, I think between lego and megablocks they cost me about $800.00 last year.

Pshaw. Your posted pic isn't even of the cool, original Blacktron line when the little dudes had solid jet black visors and used the Triforce for their logo:

Oh it's a good thing I'm out of Calgary for an extended period of time. I freaking love Lego! I always really like the rescue lego sets. But building your own stuff was way more fun. I'd make some pretty sick war planes and that sort of thing.

Anyone else know what other stores are going to open at chinook? I heard rumors of Abercrombie and Fitch.

I had those blacktron sets. They were awesome, some of the first sets my parents gave me.
This set was my favorite. First one I bought with my own money. I was 8 and found $50 in a hot tub in Fernie.

The only Lego store I have ever seen or been to was in Vilnius, Lithuania, of all places. It was very cool

My grandma had lots of Lego, but these were my first sets that I actually owned:
I loved my technical Lego.

Am I the only one that hates these set specifically meant to build something? One of the best things about Lego is using your imagination to build a space station however you think it should be, not how the designers wanted it.
Just a giant bucket of misc lego please.
