Valve to release "Alien Storm" for free on Monday

I hate to bust up the Apple love/hate fest, but Valve is releasing a full team based game for free on Monday.

This is awesome, the kind of game I love. Co-op game working together with friends to survive is one of the best and sadly oft-neglected genres.

Holy! I remember playing the original Alien Swarm mod for Half Life and loving the crap out of it, and I remember desperately awaiting the release of AS:Source for years. And now its not only here, but given away for free by Valve??

Oops, now that I'm thinking about it, the original Alien Swarm wasn't a Half Life mod, it was a Unreal Tournament 04 mod.

Credit to Valve for releasing this but this was actually a fan made mod on the source engine that they've polished and it was always free before. Glad to see it getting exposure though and they hired and paid the modders.
