Default Predators sign Brett Palin

It was expected with all the defensive prospects that are making the jump to professional hockey.

hopefully brett can get a shot in nashville. i think he has a shot at a 6/7 spot as he is good defensively. injuries really hurt his chances of getting called up the last couple years. with his age his window is small, but i think at least still there a little. if not, he is a great player and leader at the ahl level.

If you're a marginal defensive prospect that is one team you DON'T want to end up with. He will continue as a minor leaguer.

$105K for playing in the minors. AHL vets make a decent wage

Nashville was the last place he wanted to sign if he wanted a shot at the NHL. They are overloaded with good prospects.

including two RFAs, the Preds have 6 NHL d-men. They also have 3 or 4 high end defensive prospects, but they are 20ish years old. Franson and Parent were 6-7 guys last season

I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but I could see Palin making the Preds as their #7 d-man this season.

I agree unless there is some serious injuries in their NHL team.
