Default Seattle Officer Punches Woman

I think it was fully justified. She jumped in while the officer was arresting her friend. The officer doesn't look good doing it, but I don't see what else he could do. The punch is better than using a taser.

Now the cop is facing an investigation.

Couple of idiots.

At least he didn't use a taser.

It wasn't an arrest for Jaywalking. They probably would have gotten a ticket but they decided to walk away. when the cop confronted them they acted like idiots.

Regardless of what started the original arrest, you can't come at an officer when he's arresting someone and try to stop him, you just can't.

Whether you're a man or woman, the officer has to assume the worst if he's being attacked while he's already tied up by one person.

Also, lol at the hero with the camera saying "R U Surius?" over and over.

I'm from Seattle and hate police abusing their power. I don't however believe that was the case here.
Considering the officer was on his own here and surrounded by a large crowd also shouting out things at him I think he handled the situation very well. Actually he probably went light on these 2 girls. I can only speculate, but I bet if it were 2 guys or 1 guy/1 girl, a taser, stick or gun would have been pulled.

Most important quote from that article that CC posted...

Quote:
Assistant Chief of the Seattle Police Officer's Guild Nick Metz recently said at a press conference about the incident, "Let's face it, force never looks good. It's never pretty. You have to take into context everything that occurred from the point the officer made contact with the individuals up to the time the situation ended."

If they wouldn't have been morons they would have got tickets.

They'll still get tickets for the jaywalking. but the resisting arrest is much more serious.

Should have been a better punch. Next time, try aiming 2" behind her face for maximum shut-up effect.

Definitely don't see what the Officer did wrong here. I'm actually surprised how much composure he had during the whole struggle.

Punch a black woman and you'll get investigated.

Punch a green man and you'll be lauded as a hero...

We're creating a society of witnesses instead of action.

OMG that building almost hit that girls car, I'll video tape it instead of helping.

OMG that girls getting mugged, I'll video tape it and post it on youtube.

OMG that guy just fell 20 stories and survived., do you want to help him? Nah I need to get to a PC stat.

I thought the punch was totally justified and hilarious. I had a good laugh watching that.

I think the officer showed restraint. I bet he wanted to kick the ever-living **** out of her - and she totally deserved it.
