Default Toshiba Libretto - Gimmick? The Future of Tablets? Something else?

Press shots: http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshi...-w100/#3096797

Endgadget Hands on: http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/21/t...rand-with-dua/

At first it seemed really gimmicky to me (and a bit thick) but if executed properly there's a lot of potential.

No 3G eh? That’s not very forward looking for a mobile device. I guess it wasn’t worth the effort considering this is intended to be a limited edition device.

Still, it’s good to see innovation in this space - hopefully it gives the iPad a good run for its money. A rising tide floats all boats.

Edit: It has a fan that Engadget notes is quite audible. Maybe its a hovercraft, not a boat. That seems pretty....sub-optimal...to me.

Price really puts it at a disadvantage when it comes to the iPad, although as a windows PC it would definitely be able to do more.

Definitely expensive compared to what I normally pay for laptops.
Although if you compare it to a macbook at $1050, it isn't too bad. Macbook from from $1250.

The two screens is definitely cool. Opens a lot of options, although more than likely I would just have it as a touchscreen keyboard.

No thanks. That doesn't look 'magical' at all.
