Default Help support a local Calgary boxer (CP Jihad request)

A guy who went to my highschool is a pro boxer here in Calgary. He fought last night as the headliner at the Deerfoot casino:

I'm more of an MMA guy myself but I was at the fight and it was a good one. He looks pretty fast and is now 9-0. There was also a killer 1st round KO on the card.

Any support would be appreciated, and as always, go Flames go!

Shouldn't he have to fight to be considered Canada's top lightweight boxer?

Don't know how a vote makes him the best, but I'll vote anyways.

Thanks, it's just for recognition and repping Calgary and a home town kid.

Boxing is HUGE in Quebec and those guys get a lot of press on RDS and the Fight Network but its tough for these guys out west.

I don't think many people visit the above website but helping to show support for a local kid is never a bad thing.

Also he looked pretty good I thought. Definitely has some skills. Hoping he does well.

Here is the other fight from the card, a big one-punch KO

It said the guy who won was an MMA fighter making his pro debut while the Asian fellow had played in the CFL at some point.

Pretty big KO.

if the asian dude didn't have his mouth open, he would have survived that punch. He was actually scoring better than the MMA guy up to that point.

The part that surprised me about that heavyweight fight was that Cheung (the guy who was knocked out) did not seem to go to the hospital for his eye. I saw him on the way out at the Casino.

I know in the US when you lose a fight you are automatically taken to the hospital.

His eye looked in really bad shape and I hope he was ok.

He didn't have a hope as soon as I saw that big Sgt. Slaughter chin he was jutting out there.

Landing punches on that mug would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

It's funny because I think I could hear someone yelling "Tuck your chin down" in the video just before the ko!

Just found out Steve will headline another card in Calgary at the Deerfoot Casino... this time on a Saturday night... Sept. 25th

Poll is still open so if you haven't already voted it would be appreciated.

Even despite the tatoo I voted - he is currently leading everyone by 10% with 33% of the vote, I much prefer the sweet science to mma, its just too bad the science has turned middle ages in the last decade.
