Default Man Knifed over Videogame Knifing

Payback, Achivement Unlocked?

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/worl...character.html

3 Justin 3 reportedly spent six months looking for the person who killed his online character in a virtual knife fight, and eventually found the foe living only a few miles away in Cambrai, a town about 2 hours north of Paris.

The 20-year-old, armed with a real-life kitchen knife, went to the man's house and brutally stabbed him in the chest. The victim, identified only as Mikhael, survived the assault after the blade missed his heart by less than an inch.

You fools don't know? You run faster with a knife in RL.

I expected this to be about WoW.

I don't get it... it's a counterstrike character, you die, you wait a few minutes, and you respawn.

Ahhhh the internet...

The most surprising part of the story for me is that people still play counter-strike.

CS is still the most played multiplayer PC game after 10 years.

Right now there are about 50,000 CS servers online.

COD4 barely has 10,000. Bad Company 2 is around 8000.

It truly is a testament to the game that it is still played as much as it is 10 yrs after it first came out. CS was my first step into online FPS. Before it I had only played duke nukem on a lan. I compared many a games to CS for quite some time. Still do to some degree. It was simple, didn't require a computer with a ton of jam but took skill to play, something most online FPS lack these days.

What is wrong with people these days? It's a video game... If you get frustrated, leave the game.

It's never this easy. I usually break the controllers before I leave the game.

Oh man, there are so many times I've died in Counterstrike and would have given anything to stab the guy through the internet. Props to this guy for taking action.

See, someone knifing me wouldn't put me over the edge.

Now if we're talking about the days old days of Rainbow Six: Black Arrow, don't get me started.

I accidentally team-killed someone in one round (he ran into a grenade or peaked the corner when I was shooting, I forget), then next round I had to take a suicide (because of the team-kill). As soon as my body fell off the start, all 5 of my team members had a group orgy on my body, teabagging, throwing flashbangs.

I will always remember that incident, it has been like 6 years since that day.

I used to kill people on that game then hump their bodies while they viewed through the kill cam. Sooo many memories. The more enraged people get the easier they are to kill.
