EVE is one of those games I will read about sometimes because of just how amazingly large and complex that world is, and how well it mirrors real world economies and politics and social behavior among people.
The huge galactic corporations and organizations and alliances that last for years only to be torn down by tens of thousands of dollars of real world money and real world espionage resulting in dramatic changes in the control of space through wars that last for years and years are great to read about.
There was that huge BandofBrothers cartel with the motherships that cost $10,000 in real money each that was taken down when someone in the corporation sold the shield codes to the Northern Alliance and they warped in like a hundred thousand ships and destroyed them resulting in a huge turnover in the EVE Universe. It is like science fiction that writes itself.
As far as playing? Yikes. I would never put myself into that. It's more like having a job on the side after you do your real job...unless it is your real job and you making a living mining isk or stealing secrets and selling it for real dollars.
