Default What's for breakfast?

Want to switch up the morning routine; looking for a quick "grab and go" type breakfast that -- with periodic snacks -- will keep me satisfied (I usually tend to eat more in the AM).

Going back to my days as a student, I've tried a bunch of things, from leftover pizza, Boost type drinks, oatmeal, and microwave hot dogs and burritos . Most recently I've tried homemade breakfast wraps (made in advance and frozen), which was prettty good. Cereal only works when I have time to sit down and eat it; I'm not a big fan of smoothies, although the wife loves them.

Any other suggestions (preferably healthier ones)? I've seen a woman in the office eat a couple of Oatmeal cookies for breakfast (which kind of makes sense), but I'd probably have to eat a half dozen to fill me up

Try Cosmic Cookies from Planet Organic (if you're in Calgary). I generally eat one with a piece of cheese for breakfast and I'm full until lunch.

Takes me less than 4 minutes to cook up 3 egg whites if you buy the egg substitute in the microwave and put it on a toasted bagel or English muffin with a slice of ham and cheese. Once it's made it's easy to take it out the door and eat it on the way.

What about making your own breakfast bar? Either with oatmeal or some other cereal. I'm sure the interwebz has a recipe...

I'm on a CKD so I get to eat 3 eggs and 4-6 strips of bacon for breakfast every day while losing weight!

I just have a coffee and a toast. I went to T&T and bought this coconut bread. It's fantastic stuff.

Anything that's NOT sweet. Nothing with maple syrup, very little brown sugar, even jams/jellies aren't such a great idea first thing in the morning for me. I feel sick the rest of the day. I only like sugar in my coffee. =P

Breakfast sandwiches from McD's etc. are usually too greasy/heavy for my tastes.

I typically cycle through eggs (sometimes bacon, but not that often), plain oatmeal with a bit of brown sugar, or toast with sugar-free peanut butter. Failing all that, cereal. We also have these steel-cut oats, but they're so weird and foreign to me and I haven't had them very much.

If you buy one of them thingies where you can put an egg in it and cook it in the microwave you can make breakfast really fast.

Eggs ftw in the morning.

Fruit smoothie (throw banana, orange, frozen mixed berries and fruit juice in blender). Makes two servings. Serve with bowl of granola/yogurt.

Eggs (probably 8 egg whites from box), cheese, and half a cup of porridge. I'd like to change it up probably been for 6 years eating the same thing every day. By change up I mean maybe have scrambled vs. cooked in a George foreman grill to speed up the process. Hmmm.. Or microwave, but I cook too many eggs that it can't cook even and ends up tasting wretched.

I do a cup of porridge with brown splenda, a glass of skim milk with a scoop of whey protein mixed in and half a grapefruit.

Generally do toast and coffee in the morning with a smoothie as a mid morning snack.

Some mornings I'm aching for a fully cooked breakfast and others I can just completely do without.

Thanks for the responses.

I've had those toaster strudels -- they are awesome but probably not an everyday thing for me. The microwave egg whites/bagel sounds down my alley -- might look into a home made breakfast bar and/or cookie as well.

I always salivate when I see those Jimmy Dean croissants but I know they're not as good as they look on the box, and the nutritional info is actually quite frightening.

T&T coconut bread FTW (all meals, not just breakfast!)

Those croissants are actually pretty good, at least the ones from costco. Very addicting though and hard to eat just one.

My entry. I've never made this, but I'm gonna do it tonight to see if it works. I'm in a sandwich competition Saturday.

Peanut butter and banana breakfast sandwich.

2 slices of french toast, with banana flambe in the center, peanut butter, cap'n crunch cereal, topped with the fambe reduction, whipped cream and a cherry.
