Default Kelowna activities

Going this weekend, looking for suggestions beyond "go to the beach".

We aren't wine people, so skip the tour suggestions (unless there is a lunch recommendation) and we aren't golfers.

We will be checking out the trestles hikes but thought there are some locals on here who might have other suggestions. We also might do some open houses etc as Kelowna might be someplace we'd move to later on.

Are you sure Kelowna is the town for you?

I think what they meant was Kelowna is mainly enjoyed by wine enthusiasts and golfers. If you don't do either of these things it might not be the best place to consider living.

I think it is the Grand Okanogan that has a casino and is right on the marina. Check it out.

You don't drink wine, don't' want to go to the beach, and don't golf? The only thing I can suggest is channeling "Destination Truth" and start looking for the Ogopogo.

If I were to win the lottery, I would build Scandia in Calgary. But with a retractable roof on the outdoor course. If you love mini-golf, and video games, and batting cages, and bumperboats, and pizza, and hotdogs, and the like... you'll love Scandia.

Scandia

There are walking paths through the downtown. Those are cool.

Boat tours aren't expensive and are relaxing

Best afternoon/evening I had in Kelowna I was on the patio of Earl's and drank with my brother while looking out over the city. If you do that option, don't make the same mistake I did, wear sunscreen.

In fact just wear sunscreen period.

Make sure you walk the boardwalk, there's some really cool stuff along it.

I'm not much of a wine drinker either, but we did the Grey Monk (I think it was) tour and really enjoyed it.

When we went there was a mini "Farmer's Market" somewhere near Vernon; on the east side of the highway. (Sorry that I can't give more details than that.) It was stuff made by one group, but they had fruit, jams, awesome jerkey, etc.

If you have kids there is also a petting zoo attached as well. Just don't mention Fotze's name- he is no longer welcome there since the "sheep incident."

Knox Mountain hillclimb is on if you're into sports car racing.
Since you're not into the main parts of the Kelowna lifestyle, let us know what you enjoy and we'll tell you if you can find it.

Flintstones has been gone for more than a decade. The weather reports don't look favorable for waterslides either.

Some of you misinterpreted, I never said we didn't want to go to the beach, I took that as a given as part of the OK experience.

Wine gives me an instant headache so a wine tour doesn't interest me. However we've been to Grey Monk's for lunch before and had a great meal.

Golf is just something we've never gotten into, apologies. If we're to wander around in the sun we're much more interested in hiking and seeing "the nature".

Rent a Motorcycle and cruise around town, or take a nice drive down the highway to peachland, summerland, penticton ect.
