Default Kick-Ass

this has to be one of the most ridiculous movies i've ever watched, yet it was completely awesome at the same time. it reminded me a little of Pineapple Express, with a lot of humor mixed with gratuitous violence, good times

and Hit Girl is probably the coolest 11-year old girl character in any movie

Reminded me of Kill Bill... definitely liked it a lot.

Have you read the comic? Really good, and very creative!

Hit Girl was so perfectly cast. She had the role down like no other child actor I have ever seen. Maybe Haley Joel in Sixth Sense would be better.

Can anyone say they went into that movie expecting anywhere near that much violence?

I was shocked when I found myself in the theater with a bunch of families with 5-10 year old kids.

Isn't it rated R? Can a 5-10 year old even get in? Or is it just a parental guidance thing?

Funny some parents will allow their kids to watch people being slaughtered left and right on tv and in theatres, but if there was one nipple on the screen, there would be hell to pay.

I thought we didn't have the R rating in Canada, only 18+, or if it is R, then they have to have parental supervision. I think the only movie where the kids can't go, no matter what is N17+.

Anyone taking a kid to the movie is beyond stupid and should be fined for child abuse or something.. I can't believe that's even possible when as a parent I agonize if my kid is mature enough to handle The Iron Giant.

"Hey look, 11 year old on the poster, lets go."

And I should say I thought the movie was great.

I once had a video store employee tell me tons of parents rented 'Pans labyrinth' and scared the unholy hell out of their kids.

I'm in my late 20's Pan labyrinth scared the unholy hell out of me.

On a similar note... I remember watching the origional Labyrinth when I was 5 or 6... David Bowie still haunts my dreams.

As for Kick-Ass, loved it. It didn't seem to get a tonne of buzz from the general public, but I think it's going to find a big audiance on DVD (blu-ray,vhs, beta... home video?)

In Canada we have 18+ which means you must be with someone over 18, and we have R which means you must be over 18 no matter who you are with.

Agreed. That movie was not cool, man. Not cool.

The creatures were freaky as hell, and David Bowie was just straight up scary.

Glad I'm not the only one who's occasionally frightened to death by "children's movies."

I definitely didn't! Neither did the friend I went with. I really enjoyed it though! Agree about the casting of Hit Girl as well, actually overall I thought most of the actors did a great job!
