I realize this is a long shot, but as CP has been good to so many in such ways, I thought I'd take the liberty of asking anyone if they recognize where this scenic picture may have been taken in Kananaskis.
Essentially, a family friend went to a reception years ago, where this photo was taken, but she had gotten a ride there, and cannot pinpoint exactly where it was. She really wanted to go back last summer, but could not find it by herself, so my family is going to help her find it this summer. The reception may have been in Kananaskis Meadows (Peter Lougheed Provincial Park) or near Fortress Mountain Ski Center. After googling Kananaskis Meadows, the results haven't helped in narrowing the search or finding an exact turnoff etc. If anyone has some suggestions, we are probably going to have to try a half dozen routes to find the right one this summer, so it'd be great if anyone recognizes the spot in this photo.
As for secondary details she gave about the reception spot (her memory may not be perfect, she is elderly), it was mentioned from the main highway a left turn was taken into an area with a gravelly, slightly upward sloping road. From there, the narrow road split into two turnoffs. According to her, on the left was a parking lot, and on the right side was a bike trail. She vividly remembers many bikers, not only on the right side turnoff from that narrow road but also on the way to where the reception took place (after parking the car, one needs to walk a short distance to get near the lake and rocks below). So yes, anyhow, I would be indebted to you guys for your help with this thanks in advance.
