Looking at Buying a Boston Terrier
I have been looking at buying a Boston Terrier the past few weeks. Anyone have a Boston Terrier? Are they good with other animals such as a cat?
Thanks for the help.

Boston Terriers are amazing dogs. Great with other animals, and kids etc. They are loving, and very kind animals. Stupidly happy is what best describes them.
They are smart, and pretty easy to train, but can be stubborn, if they think they can get away with something, they will try. Which can be hilarious, but frustrating too.
For the most part I wouldn't worry about your new Boston accepting a cat, mostly the other way round. They aren't very subtle when being introduced to other pets, which agian, can be a good or bad thing.
Great dog though, go for it for sure.
Oh... and they fart... lord do they fart...

I can attest to them. Another family member has one whom I have spent quite a bit of time around. Beyond intelligent, very easy and loyal. When I find time for a dog I will be getting a boston. This family member also rescued a boxer/pug type thing that was very aggressive. The boston got along with it right away and somehow dialed it down to the point of them both being very obedient

They are very clumsy and are known to trip over their own eyes.

Why not see if you can find one here? http://www.petfinder.com

Just don't buy it from a pet store.
If you want a puppy, seek a responsible breeder.

Premier gopher killers, ignored horses while killing gophers and very aggressive towards other dogs . . . . . at least the six little, rat-like examples at the veterinarians horse farm next door were.

You should get a Vancouver Terrier instead. They're almost as good, except they tend to yip, whine, and bite fingers a bit more. Oh, and they don't play fetch well, because if someone holds a stick anywhere near them they tend to fall down for no apparent reason.
sorry, couldn't resist

I like them, but they can be really high energy dogs. I babysat one for week and even though they are funny and cute, I was a little tired of her at the end of the week. As for getting along with cats, every time our cat tried to do anything, she would chase her back into the room. I don't think she wanted to hurt her, but she definitely wanted to chase her.
Not the dog for me, but I can understand why some people love them so much.
