Because the odds of pitching a perfect game could not be determined by the insurance company, insurance was never taken out, and 2k Sports has to pay the lump sum itself!

I wish I could earn a cool million by playing video games! Instead, I earn insults from my EASHL teammates!

set up his computer Web cam in front of his TV, a requirement for the verification of the perfect game.

I assume it will show up on Youtube eventually or as part of marketing as they need to recoup the money.

2K Sports only needs to sell a bit over 16,669 copies of MLB2K10 @ the MSRP of $59.99 (take away some to account for retail margin) to recoup this and since printing copies of videogames is cheap as dirt to manufacture, this is easy money to give away actually.

Last year, they sold 205,000 copies of MLB2K9 in one month.
