Hey guys...

Dropped my WD portable Drive tonight about 10 cm. I can no longer see my data.

I removed the drive from the caddy and placed it into my PC, luckily it's a SATA drive so no issue there. I can see the drive but it has a new drive letter and windows says it needs to be formatted before use

Is there any way I can retrieve my 900gigs or so of Data from it?

Any help is appreciated

I've heard that you can try putting it in a sealed ziploc baggie in the freezer overnight. Some suggest wrapping in paper towel before putting in freezer to minimize condensation risk.

My best guess is bring it to a techie agency and see if they can recover anything. Other than that I think you're hooped.
