I saw them on Elbow Drive today (radar) and photo radar on Bow Trail. I think now that the roads are clear and the sun is shining, the cops are out in full force.

Is there nothing better the police can do?
Honestly, the people causing accidents are the ######s doing 80 on deerfoot in the left lane.

Those on both sides of the spectrum cause accidents.

Only if it was nighttime and you saw a flash in your rear-view mirror.

Ah yes, the signs of spring ... really dumb gophers, thawing dog poop and cops catching up on their traffic ticket quotas after getting behind during the cold months.

Maybe I am in the minority but because I have done construction work, I consider speeding through a construction zone to be only slightly better than speeding through a playground zone.

true, but when the construction zone is off a 4-lane highway essentially, and the work is being done absolutely nowhere near the road, it's absolute BS. You can't even see where the men are working off of Crowchild and Stoney.
This overpass should have been built long before Stoney Trail even opened.

Clearly you don't drive around Stoney Tr and Crowchild. It is 60k in every direction for miles and there isn't a construction worker in sight. Ever. At least not in any spots that are reachable for my car.
I live in Tuscany and have to do 60 pretty much all the time for absolutely no reason. The construction that goes on is so far away from the road I'm pretty sure I'd have to be going like 120 and lose control and have no brakes for my car to actually make contact with a construction worker. And that is if I could make it around the trailers, trucks, equipment and through the dirt and over the hills.
Actually I just happen to feel the same about playground zones. There is one in Tuscany that never has any kids at it. Luckily pretty much no one ever slows down. Then there is a field by my house that is constantly busy with small children and I always slow down but for some reason there is no playground zone sign.
Other than my fear of getting a ticket I probably wouldn't slow down in many construction zones and playground zones. I see them as a reminder that there is a park near and that there may be people working so I should pay attention and slow down if I see anyone. Other than that I don't understand the laws at all.

Except when the construction zone is at midnight, with no workers and consisting of 1 pylon.
Then again, most playground zones have no kids either.

Calgary is probably one of the worst cities (in Canada) for speed traps if not the worst. I find I pay much more attention to speed limits here then I do outside of Alberta. You see them everywhere and they are clever.
I guess people going over the limit don't think they will get caught or don't mind getting caught.
