booo to fakes!

If you get one from a store in the mall (Jersey City) you will be fine.
From what I could tell of the fakes the lettering was placed too high on the shoulder, both on the name tag and the "A" on Iggy's jersey....
Look for details like the piping around the neck etc......

It's counterfeit garbage, most likely the colors are off and the crest is crooked. I wouldn't want one of those either.

I don't know about you, but when I buy presents for friends I get legit items. If I got a fake pieice of garbage in return because all my friend could think about was saving a buck, I'd be a bit PO'd.

Accept it, sure, but what do you say to your friend when they notice you never wear it?

Well I've always looked at the thought of the gift rather than the gift its self. The best gift I ever got was a $15 dollar Lion king picture in a frame.

Exactly, if someones main concern was to save a dollar by buying a fake, then the thought isn't really there (thinking of themselves first).
However, in this case, the friend who purchased it noticed it was fake before giving it, then offered to replace with a legit jersey. THIS is thought... if the friend didn't give a crap, he'd just say "too bad, take it or leave it, it's the thought that counts"

something else haha

From my understanding the Olympic Vancouver logo is overly big on the arm, the name bar is too high, the numbering is bubbly and I think the olympic logo on the bottom of the jersey is too big as well.

The easiest way to spot a fake is usually if it has a "fight strap" and you didn't pay $300+ for it.
I don't know about the Olympic ones, but the dead give-away from a distance for the fake Flames jerseys is the colour. The regular home jerseys are much darker red than the actual jerseys. The retros that were made this year were almost orange, the collars were a solid white, and the stripes were sewn into the jersey rather than dyed. Some of the regular jerseys don't look too bad, but the retros all looked horrible.
Up close, the stitching doesn't look as good as the official jerseys and the fabrics are much lower quality.
Here's a photo of Crosby (very big): http://z.about.com/d/proicehockey/1/...7439467_10.jpg
Here's a knock-off you can buy for less than $50 from China: http://www.ajerseys.com/images/2010/02/25/35918700.jpg
The most obvious thing is that the font on the name is much thicker on the knock-off. The stitching looks pretty bad, and it doesn't have the "A" on the front.

Puckluck to the rescue! Great post as usual... /sarcasm.
Dude the guy was just asking for advice. You seem to go out of you way to be a prick, and not in a fun or creative way.

Such a shame TBQH. I'm sure they were great posts. Let me guess your two posts in this thread were about me? You seem like you have a man crush on me.
If you want to get to know me better I can show you a good time. Come play hockey with some of the CP boys and I'll take you out for beer after and then we can go back to your place or my place. Giggidy.

the bands around the arms are where you can really see it to. on a real jersey they are on top of the main jersey and on a fake it will be under.
