Forest Lawn High School under lock down earlier today
Global News-
"Forest Lawn high school was put under lockdown this morning after witnesses reported seeing a man walk into the school holding a gun around 11:30am.
The man was confronted by staff and on his way out of the building began waving the gun in the air.
Police arrested the man, who was determined to be a drunk former student.
The gun was fake.
The school is no longer under lockdown."

Meh Forest Lawn high school has a bad rep for nothing. I went to FLHS for all 3 years of highschool and never once was there a real serious problem. You'd get the odd fist fight like any other school but for some reason Forest lawn always gets the bad name.
I never once seen a knife or gun being pulled and was around for the creation of the FOB and FOB killer gangs. Maybe I was lucky but it was a real safe school for me to attend anyways.

Then you missed the shooting in 95, before your time. Still I liked the school, just a few incidents that gave it a bad rep thats forsure.

Yah my first year was in 2000 but honestly I dont think it's those incidents that gave it a bad name just the area being a crap shoot being the main reason.

I went to Forest Lawn as well from 99-02 and there was not a single incident that was newsworthy, just a few fistfights and a lot of empty threats passed around.

i guess it depends who you hang around. at the time (same yr as you puckluck) i went 2000-2003, you hang around certain groups and all you get is trouble.
not being racist or whatever but if you were a person of colour you tend to get into trouble haha.
asians vs lebs
lebs vs afghanis
skaters vs lebs
but meh, i grew out of that fighting stuff after you get out of high school. but almost a fight a week in my eyes.

Well, it's not as bad as many think, but it has more than it's fair share of problems. The fact is it has a lower income demographic by and large, and that tends to carry it's issues with it.
But I have to say I still get a kick out of the way people are surprised and view me just a little differently after I tell them I went there (grad '90).
Wow, 20 years ago.

Maybe it was a safe school, but at my school they at least taught us that you didn't "seen'' something, you "saw" something.

I assistant coached football there for 4 season, sure some of the kids were rough around the edges, but they were good kids. I always thought the school got the wrong end of the stick when it came to reputation.
