In all seriousness, it's not a big deal. George W was on as well in the past - IIRC, this is the "Idol Gives Back" episode, no?

Sorry, what's the problem here?
I thought he only gave a video message, not sing. He's just addressing his fellow Americans in a manner that probably will draw a larger audience than a Presidential video.
