Default Will any Flames junior prospects be joining the Heat?

Every Flames prospect's team in the WHL or OHL has made the playoffs.

If some of their teams are eliminated from the playoffs and the Heat are still going will any of them join the Heat?

Probably, but likely only the 4th year junior players.

I would imagine that all 4 guys with contracts ( Nemisz, Wahl, Brodie, and Bouma) will join Abbotsford after the CHL playoffs. I think Bouma is hurt? but will return shortly from what I understand.

All 4 will start next season in Abbotsford too.

I wonder if Patterson will be in the AHL next year. Flames drafted him in the 7th round of the 2009 draft, but he was eligable for the 2008 draft also, like im sure most of you know.

I wonder if the Flames will send him back to the WHL next year as an overager.

I could see Nemisz joining the Heat in the unlikely event that Spitfires are eliminated early. Just because I think he'll be looked at to step up quick. With Backlund moving up, they'll need some replacement offense.

Howse or any of our draftees may get a call up. How I understand they do this is they sign the player to an AHL try out contract so they don't use up a year of eligibility of their three year protection from having to pass through waivers.

I would hope so. Good experience for them and the more hockey they can play the better.

Any CHL player is eligible to play in the AHL once their season is over. As long as it's the AHL team of the NHL club that drafted him, regardless of age.

Would the AHL have the same rules regarding roster limits? Cuz if so, they could carry as many players as they want, which shouldn't be a bad thing though.

The way I see it now, the Heat could make a real nice push in the playoffs. With reinforced offence, this team could go far in the playoffs.

Therefore, Wahl, Nemisz, and Brodie would be great to have for that push. It's likely they would come up if they are eliminated.

I'm sure Backlund will head on down there once the Flames fail to make the playoffs.
