Default LF: Chariot-type jogging stroller

The wife and I are looking for a reasonably-priced, gently-used jogging stroller capable of carrying two kids. Something like this:

Compatibility with a bike would be a big plus. Doesn't have to be the Chariot brand (brand new ones are upwards of $800-1000 depending on the model).

You still need to buy the conversion kit of your choice for the chasis, which is common for the Chariot-type strollers too. Reviews online look kind of lukewarm. At half the price of the Chariot, I wonder about the difference in quality between the two brands. Seems odd that MEC would have something so reasonably priced. There must be a catch...

I wish I owned a chariot. I would drive down centre street with my 2 horses - it would be great.

It looks like the prices have gone up just a bit since we bought ours. $358 all together to get the jogging attachment.

I don't think there's much difference in quality, though the chariots might be a little more refined. They have a new "2009" model which is supposed to have a few improvements.

The drawbacks that I know of is that the MEC ones are a bit heavier, but once you've got kids in there, the difference between 3-5 pounds isn't going to be very noticable. The big drawback that I can think of is that the double MEC trailer does not fit through a regular 36" wide door (say to get into a store), where a double chariot one will. This could easy be a make or break for many people.

The Chariot line has more features as you go up in models - things like brakes and suspension.

One advantage that the MEC trailer has over Chariot models, is that there is a bit of room behind the kids to put some grocery bags, or a diaper bag. The huge difference is the 200-300 bucks you'll be saving over getting a base model Chariot brand new.

MEC Trailer outfitted for both bike trailer and jogging = $358
Cheapest Chariot Model outfitted the same = $500 + $75 + $80 = $655

I sold one to Habernac a few years ago... maybe he's ready to get rid of it.... Had both Jogging wheels and bike attachment and was a two-seater.
