Firefox 3.6 tabs changed
New tabs go next to the tab you open them from... that's going to take some getting used to.
Debating whether I should try to get used to it just change it back.

Oh get used to it for sure, I said the same thing then a few days later I went back to a 3.5 box and found out it's far more useful having them pop up next to your current tab.

It's awesome, I'm really glad they implemented this feature.

I still don't use tabbed browsing- prefer to open new windows. I'm old school like that.

I always use a plugin called TabMix Plus, which allows you to customize this, and much more with how your tabs function.

Ok I'm going to raise my idiot flag ... I don't see the difference.
Edit: ok i get it now. I'm not sure if it's just the way I do it, but I always open my tabs in succession. I've never really noticed that they appear to the right of the tab stack.

Did you know that you can drag and drop tabs in/out of the current window to either consolidate your windows as tabs or separate a tab into a new window?
I don't expect that to change your old school ways, but I find that it gives you the best of both worlds.

No need to revert to 3.5, you can change this behaviour in the "about:config"
The exact setting is: browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent
It is a boolean and is true by default, but changing it to false means new tabs open at the end of the list.

Reason: It would help if my spelling was correct!

It's nice but it would be even nicer if you could drag a tab out to create a new window like Safari and Chrome.

Um...you already can? Just drag the tab you're viewing onto the page you're viewing and a new window pops up...

wow, I don't think I could go back to not using tabs.
When I first open CP for example I open F&I or OT and then open all the threads that I want to read in different tabs. I would have so many programs open if i didn't tab.

Tabs are the best thing to happen to browsers since pop up blockers.

Yeah, I can't even stand IE just because Windows 7 treats each tab like a window in the taskbar.
I do use windows to group related tabs, but I basically use tabs instead of back. If I think there's a possibility I'll want to go back, I'll middle click and open the link in a new tab. Ergo, I detest javascript.

I open new windows, and magically still have only one program running LOL... just many windows.
I might try out tabbed browsing when I get a new computer, one that was made in this century. Err, I mean this decade, my machine is only 6 years old.

Ouch.
Tabbed browsing is so much easier and faster.
Control + T to open a new tab, and bang.

Use firefox and it automatically opens links in a new tab, with another blank tab awaiting.

I like this. I can keep links from each site I'm browsing together.
Couldn't imagine not using tabbed browsing at home. I have to at work and it drives me batty.

I switched it back.
(Using about :config, of course.)
