For this season, Minny wins the deal. Long term, Philly wins as retirement always seems to float around Niedermayer. With no more Olympics, will he come back for another season?

Not a deal that we usually make - normally when we swap out young dmen we want youth back - but in this case we upgraded all 3 of our defensive pairings in one deal. Moreover, we have plenty of dmen coming through the pipeline that we need to make room for next season.

When you have the assets the Wild have, you can afford to make a trade like this. Makes sense for both sides.
