Default Ovechkin: 'Canada deserved to win'

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/cap...ved-to-wi.html
Quote:
“You know, I think every game against Canada, it's something special for everybody. Unfortunately, we lost, we lost pretty badly,” Ovechkin said.
“I don't know what happened at that moment, but you know you can see how they move and how they play — and we didn't play at all. It was a pretty bad situation for us, and for our country in that moment, but still, life goes on.”

The NHL needs more entertainers like Ovechkin.

Why is it that in every thread about Ovechkin or Crosby, does someone have to say "Ovechkin/Crosby is the best player in the world" only to be followed by "nope, the other player is the best player in the world."

Not picking on the people in this thread in particular, but it gets tiresome to see in every single thread that attempts to discuss either one turn into an argument over who is the better player. Quite frankly, I think they are both better at different aspects of the game, and I love watching either one play.

That being said, good to hear Ovechkin praise the Canadians, particularly after some of his fellow Russians have been whining. He will be an excellent ambassador for 2014.

I liked to think that Ovechkin was drunk during the closing ceremonies (pretty big smile for having just watched his rival beat him to another landmark) and these remarks were made during that surly stage between hangover and sobriety.

For all those who question who the better player is, all I have to say is:

World Junior Gold
Olympic Gold
Stanley Cup Champion

Guess who wins!

Which to me, speaks more about a player than individual awards such as the Hart. But again, both are great players, so let's just enjoy them while we can!

How can a team award speak more to you about an individual player than an individual award? This goes against all logic and reason.

Could it make him a better TEAM player? Probably. Does it make him a better player? No.

Seriously??? Unless you were the media member who got "shut out", why would anyone care (on a GAME DAY) no less, that he didn't talk to the media? How many interviews has he gone out of his way to do? I guess by that logic, Kipper is a jerk face for rarely speaking to the media
