That's way cool of him... my favorite is this:
For reminding some of us we used to be a more civil society.

I'm a little dissapointed that i didn't watch some american coverage.
In true Canadian fashion i'd like to hear what they thought of us.

The tape delays and difficulty finding events on various NBC channels aside, and especially the opening/closing ceremonies and gold medal hockey game, NBC coverage was nothing short of outstanding.
They were very complimentary of Canada and with an obvious focus on US athletes and US stories, a close second was coverage of Canadian athletes and their stories.
I was thoroughly impressed.

Brian Williams is awesome. Anyone who's seen him on Conan or Letterman can attest to this.

Wait... what?

HAHA, you're not kidding. What the heck is this?
Bri,
You are too cute. You are SO handsome. Still up, 1:44 a.m.!! In the guests' room / lobby at the hotel (in my PJs). Cold. If Brea was here we would be hitting the streets. I am not brave. Coward. Not going out alone. The front desk attendant just offered me his potato wedges. Everyone here is so sweet. I explained- I am hungry -and he says it is too late to venture out. So, he gave me his food.
I came down to the lobby to book another night. Loving London.
The rooms here are pretty, fab. Even the bathroom is lovely. Nice shower and fixtures.
I am a bathroom freak. I love nice restrooms. Bathrooms must be nice! A person's ladies room / bathroom says a lot about them.
I wonder, ... and wonder, what type of ????? are you?
Do you do this or that? Are you gentle?
Forgive me for dreaming.
Goodnight MY pretty baby.
All I need is one night.

I was expected a very pro-American slant with no coverage of anyone else, but they were very good at covering all stories of the games (many Canadian) and I thought their coverage of the opening ceremonies was much better then CTV. Didn't watch them for the closing since they were on a little delay.

NBC, from everything I heard and saw, acted very graciously toward Canada. Thanks, neighbour.

Definitely a classy guy. Spoke to one of the NBC guys when I was down in Vancouver and he couldn't stop gushing about Vancouver and how much he loved it out there.

CTV, TSN and Sportsnet coverage was far, far more jingoistic - obviously rooting for a particular team - than the American coverage was.
On the other hand, NBC discovered in 2002 that lumping the Canadians in with American achievements was a surprising ratings winner for them and they continued in the same vein this time as well, probably with similar success.
Obscure moments that stood out . . . .
Al Micheals leading off his morning show with the the entire clip of Tess Virtue and Scott Moir belting out the Canadian anthem.
In fact, most of the Canadian anthem ceremonies were televised in their entirety.
They seemed to have an eye for hot Canadian women . . . . . Ashleigh MacIvor, Joannie Rochette and Tessa Virtue (along with Scott Moir, the afterthought) brought into the studio for interviews with Costas/Michaels.
An oddly placed roughly half hour/40 minute, very complimentary in-depth look at the role of Gander, Newfoundland on 9/11 . . . . . placed smack dab in the middle of their Saturday afternoon Olympic coverage. Nice but weird given the context.

I caught a couple of anchors discussing the story of the american family of that bobsledder (can't remember the name) that got scammed and didn't have a place to stay. They ended up with a free place in Whistler along with 17 other offers for free places to crash. The anchors went on and on about how nice everybody in Canada is and how we seemed to constantly be asking if they're having a good time as if every American was a personal house-guest.
