Out of the 25 medals that we have won so far, which has meant the most to you?
So far Canada has won 25 medals (and is guaranteed 1 more in hockey tomorrow). But putting hockey aside for now, out of the 25 won to date, which has meant the most to you/have you been the most happy with?
For me, I am proud of all of the athetes but I would rank it this way so far:
1. Joannie Rochette (Bronze)
2. Alexandre Bilodeau (Gold)
3. Kevin Martin (Gold)
Honorable mention to Clara Hughes for a Bronze at 37 years old.
Rochette had an outstanding performance the day after her 55 year old mother died of a heart attack and had one of the best performances i've seen a Canadian athlete give.
Bilodeau broke the curse of finally winning a gold medal for Canada on home soil and I remember Canada was so happy the moment he won. We won a lot more after that but that 1st one was special.
Martin missed out on gold in 2002 (won silver) after missing a shot and came back 8 years later and wins the gold.
Like I said I am proud of them all but to this point these are the 3 that really made me proud. (Hughes gets the honorable mention for winning bronze at 37 years old). For the record, gold tomorrow would be the one that would make me the most happy although Rochette's performance was something that made me feel the proudest I perhaps have ever felt of an athlete.

Don't know which one means the most to me. Bilodeau was pretty exciting, but my favourite one to watch so far was Maelle's gold in snowboard cross.

1. Joannie Rochette *Bronze* - The most courageous person I've ever seen.
2. Alexandre Bilodeau *Gold* - 1st Gold on home soil
3. Jon Montgomery *Gold* - The guy's just awesome
HM- Men's Hockey *Hopefully Gold* - That would just cap off a great Olympics and solidify that Canada is the best Hockey nation in the World.

Rochette is the obvious first choice.
Jasey-Jay Anderson is one that deserves some mention. The guy has been a dominant player in several disciplines of snowboarding through-out his career. He's been to all 4 Olympics (the most possible for a snowboarder) and has had solid top 5 performances, but no medals. He's helped define alpine snowboarding into a legitimate Olympic sport.
All that and he wins gold in what is more than likely the last race of his career. And he does it with a pretty big deficit going into the final leg of the gold medal race against the current world #1 needing the run of his life...and he gets it.
Pretty much the Ray Bourque of his sport.

1) Rochette (Bronze) - Considering all that had happened, it's quite amazing.
2) Clara Hughes (Bronze) - One final Gold to the best Canadian Olympic athelete
3) Montgomery (Gold)

Rochette for me. The courage of that young girl was a truely inspiration for me. Still shed a few tears after what she accomplished. Just awesome.

Probably these 3:
1) the First one with Bilodeau
2) the pair skate dance - cuz I was in Vancouver on Robson Square when it happened. That was something else to be in that crowd when you see them win the gold. Kind of sad coming back to Calgary. : (
3) the Last gold medal of the games (either Curling or Team Canada Men's Hockey). Hopefully the latter. Watch Vancouver go crazy on that one if Team Canada's Men's Hockey wins gold.

I made this thread now on purpose because I figured hockey would be #1 for a lot of people(myself included). I wanted to see how the rest of the medals ranked.

I'm still waiting for the one that I really care about. The rest... I suppose Bilodeau.

For me, Kevin Martin. A perfect - PERFECT - Olympic performance. Honorable mention to Alex Bilodeau for being the first gold medalist on Canadian soil.
