Just finished watching the 5000m skate by Clara Hughes...brought tears to my eyes

Kudos for beating the Oval record and take over 1st place.

That was an absolutely amazing performance, you can tell she feeds off the energy in the crowd. HUGELY IMPRESSIVE.

It's amazing that her times didn't stumble a bit until the final lap.

Amazing career, amazing way to end it.

nice to see one of our athletes feed off of the home crowd energy instead of being crushed by it. one thing is for certain, these home Olympics have really separated the true Canadian champions from the rest of the pack

Honestly that was the best performance I've seen at the olympics so far, I find it more impressive than Bilodeau or Shaun White's runs (they've both done better before).

I'm confused. How do you set a track record and not win the race?

I thought you were asking if she won the 5000m event.

She won the race by a large margin.

Hughes has a chance at Bronze. No way is Sablikova not winning unless she falls or (literally) blows up.

Do they rank you on cumulative times? Or is it just a matter or winning her next race?

One race per girl. The fastest time wins. I meant there are two more girls to go in one last race.
