*Update* haters. Canada is 1st in the medals standings!
Even though the US has 102121 medals they only lead with 7 gold medals.
Canada now has 6 with curling, women's hockey, and short track relay still due up. I think we can pass the US.

Who are the haters you're reffering to? Do you mean that people that are dissapointed and hoped we'd win more medals?

Come on now. Lets be realistic here.
Men's freestyle ski jumping gold might be available after that #1 ranked guy from Belarus crashed out.

Duthie just said on CTV that the IOC determines the "winner" of the games by who has the most gold, so yeah...we're definitely still in this!

Yeah. I think that was always the case until NBC changed it for the 2008 olympics in Beijing. They made it total medals so the US would 'appear' to win, when in fact China had the most gold medals.

If Canada wins gold in women's hockey, they'll win the most golds. If they don't, they still have a chance to catch the US, but it'll be tight.
Ski-cross was an event we were supposed to do well in, but winning gold is a step up from where they were projected (silver or bronze). That'll definitely help.

Not really. Both Canadian and US media have always sorted by total medals. Europe tends to sort by golds.

If we do get the most Gold, Canada will say that the winner should be decided by most Gold. The U.S. will say the winner should be decided by most medals.

Anyone watching Pardon The Interruption the last couple days? Dan "the ######' LeBetard of the Miami Herald is saying some really ignorant things about Canada. Today, he's talking about how stinky Canada's medal total is with nine medals. Apparently, he forgot to include last nights gold medal. If your going to rip Canada, at least get the medal total correct. But yesterday's Canada bashing takes the cake. LeBetard said that Canada losing to America in ice hockey is like America losing to Canada in basketball. Such a ridiculous statement really makes me wonder how this clown is a sports writer. Did LeBetard ever consider that the U.S. hockey team has all NHL players while the Canadian basketball team is entirely made up of Euro League players?

This is pretty much why he's a sports writer. He's enough of a total tool that people read his stuff either because a) they are also tools, b) they enjoy making themselves angry, or c) they like to laugh at his expense.
Personally, whenever his face pops up on PTI I change the channel.
