Default More Proof West > East

The number of players on our team from the west is staggering compared to the east. Just another example of where the power is in the NHL.

Or a bias on the part of the Team Canada braintrust since most are employed by Western teams.

Ten players born or raised in Western Canada, 13 born or raised in Eastern.

Good call.

I always wondered what the playoffs would look like if 1st in east played 8th in west and visa versa . Wonder if west would truly dominate or not. Be neat to see a Vancouver/Calgary(or calgary/edmonton if they ever make the playoffs) or Ovechkin/Crosby Stanley Cup final.

I would consider Pronger, Richards and maybe even Staal from Western Canada. Theyre a lot closer to Winnipeg than Toronto. That would make 12 or 13 from the West.

The current Stanley Cup Champion is from the East. That's all that really matters.

Well playing 3 higher skilled, harder checking teams before playing in the finals will definately make a difference. So no, that is not all that really matters.
