I'd enjoy lamebook a lot if I didn't think 99% of it was made up.

I find lamebook just complete and utter mindless entertainment. For like 10 or 20 minutes you just shut off your brain and it doesn't matter that it's made up, it's still funny.

Yeah, that's what ruins it for me. Just reading going, "haha that would be hilarious if it ws real, but it's likely not" gets boring, quickly.

You guys are no fun. Do you watch a funny movie and think that this is less funny because it's not real?

What I don't get, is that if it's real (and I've never really thought about it), why do so many people have their mom as their friend? Or even post some of the stupid crap that they do?

A lot of parents actually add their kids. And because the kids are usually the only ones updating statuses regularly they're the ONLY person on their parents' feed. And sometimes you just don't think about what you put on there. This is why I don't add bosses to facebook.

Some parents I know tell their kids that the only way they're allowed to be on Facebook is if they add their parents.

That one would be really creepy if it wasn't fake.

But, my mom did add me and makes awkward comments on my statuses all the time.

Dude, that is brilliant! Although you can control the type of content you show your parents. So it's not the best way of monitoring your kid's account.

Every generation of teenagers plays a cat-and-mouse game with their parents regarding what the parents know. We did it years ago; so did our parents with theirs.

My first thought is that I'd demand to know my kid's password "...while you're living under my roof" but I'd hope that kind of micro-management wouldn't be necessary.

I assume that by the time I'm dealing with my own teenager, we'll be dealing with some sort of ESP-based communication or hologram messages or something equally mind-blowing.

Yeah that always makes me wonder... what kinds of things are my kids going to have that puts me in the same position as my parents (or grandparents), to the point where I won't even understand what's going on.

Why would you ever add your mom to Facebook?

Screw that. The day my mom gets a facebook account is the day I delete my account. I have some cousins whose moms routinely post in their status updates. I just shake my head.

Lucky for my, my dad doesn't even know which button is the power button and my mom won't go anywhere near a computer with a ten foot pole.
